Harding, Allen W.
Allen W. Harding, 72, of Marion, formerly of Rembrandt, died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009, at home. Services: 11 a.m. Friday at Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, Marion, by Pastor Dennis Johnson. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Marion. Burial: 11 a.m. Saturday at Little Sioux Valley Cemetery, Rembrandt.
Survivors include his wife, Deanna; children, Gregg (Dawn) Harding of Gulf Port, Miss., Kenneth (Denise) Harding of Topeka, Kan., and Michael Harding of Ely; grandchildren, Josh (Kendra), Bryan, Brad, Kyle and Nichole; great-grandchild, Layla; and brother, David (Margaret) Harding of Bemidji, Minn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Carol Wirick.
Allen was born Dec. 18, 1936, in Iowa City, Iowa, to Wallace and Julia (Cooper) Harding. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines. Allen married Deanna Holmes on Oct. 1, 1960, in Storm Lake. He was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, Marion. Allen enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid Hawkeye and Yankee fan.
