Nick Hanson, 42, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 2, 2012, in Overland Park, Kan. He was born May 17, 1970, to Melvin and Suzanne (Rice) Hanson.
Nick is survived by his children, Mason, Ivory and Garrett Hanson; mother, Suzanne (Charles) Schulte; father, Melvin (Alice) Hanson; sister, Becky (Russell) Giddings; his special friend, Renee Batts and her daughter, Alexis; nieces and nephews, Samantha Hanson, Nathan and Lauren Giddings, Kaelynn, Hannah, Alyssa, Dominic and Madlyn Schulte; and his stepsiblings, Jessica Chiavetta, Michele Hanson-Smith, Stephanie, Matthew, Justin and Joshua Schulte and Breona Swearinger.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mary Johnson and Howard Rice; paternal grandparents, Benard Hanson and Marcella Farr; as well as his uncles, Butch Rice, Ronald Rice and Jeff Hanson.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, at Lutheran Church of Hope - Ankeny “The Station” - 1924 SW Third St., Ankeny, with visitation beginning at 11 a.m. Burial will be held at Rippey Cemetery in Rippey, Iowa.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Nick.
