Hanson, Marvin R.
Marvin R. Hanson, 71, of Cedar Rapids, died at St. Luke's Hospital, Saturday, July 21, 2012. Memorial Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel. A visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Cindy; daughter, Tracy (Tony) Meza of Cedar Rapids; brother, Larry (Nancy) Hanson of Marion; mother, Marie Hanson of Cedar Rapids; sister, Carol (Bob) Livingston of Flemington, Mo.; two grandchildren, Bailey and Reilly Meza; and three beloved cats, Izzy, Jeep, and Little Guy.
He was preceded in death by his father, Marvin.
Marvin was born Jan. 1, 1941, in Cedar Rapids. He attended Roosevelt High School. He married Cindy Skaar in Cedar Rapids on June 15, 1989. Marvin retired from Rapids Wholesale Inc. in 2003 after several years.
Marvin loved to travel to northern Michigan and was an avid motorcyclist. He liked tending his flower garden and feeding the birds.
