Hanson, Anna Agnes
Anna Agnes Hanson, 98, of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, Oct. 15, 2009, at Heritage Nursing and Rehab Center. As per Anna's wishes, graveside services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Czech National Cemetery. Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids is in charge of arrangements.
Anna was born Feb. 1, 1911, near Solon, the daughter of John and Annie Vanourny Zakostelecky. She graduated from Iowa University High School and went on to attend classes at Coe College and the University of Iowa. Anna received an Elementary School certificate to teach in Johnson County. She married George R. Hanson on June 5, 1935, and together they operated and lived on their farm near Solon. Anna retired in 1956 after teaching in several schools.
Anna is survived by her a sister, Evelyn Ogle of Bainbridge Island, Wash.; and a nephew, John Ogle of Germany.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George on Aug. 9, 1983; a sister, Velma Zakostelecky; a brother, John Zakostelecky; and a niece, Lorri Ogle.
Memorials may be directed in her name to the donor's choice.
