Hansen, Vianna C. 'Cristy'

Vianna C. “Cristy” Hansen, 63, of 307 S. Davis St., Anamosa, died Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2011, at her home surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Congregational Church UCC in Anamosa. Friends may visit the family from 9 a.m. until service time at the church on Saturday. Iowa Cremation is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Larry Hansen; four children, Lisa Bowers (Andy) of Anamosa, Victor Hansen (Annette) of Appleton, Wis., Vianna Hansen of Monticello and Tina Hansen of Anamosa; mother, Lora of Lincoln, Neb.; one brother, Hugh Jr. “Skipper” Johnson of California; a sister, Julia Noyes of Lincoln, Neb.; and three grandchildren, Blake Bowers, Alexis Bowers and Paige Hansen.

She was preceded in death by her father, Hugh Johnson; and brother, Ed Johnson.

Cristy was born Sept. 4, 1947, in Oakland, Neb., and graduated from Schribner High. Cristy was united in marriage to Larry Hansen on Sept. 28, 1968, and moved to Anamosa. She started working at Larry's Feed Center in 1969, sold Avon for many years, and operated Cristy's Design Quilting for 25 years. Cristy enjoyed spending time with her grandkids, traveling with her husband, quilting, sewing, camping, and tending to her many plants.
