Hansen, Helen Christine
Helen Christine Hansen, 81, of Anamosa, died Saturday evening, Jan. 8, 2011, at the Anamosa Care Center. Service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 13, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Anamosa. The Rev. Bill Nielsen will officiate at the service. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Goettsch Funeral Home in Anamosa. Burial will be at the Wyoming Cemetery, Wyoming, Iowa.

Surviving are her husband, Wilbur; two children, Carol Hansen of Cedar Rapids, and Alan (Simone) Hansen of Olin; a sister-in-law, Pauline Hansen of Texas; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Jens C. Hansen.
Helen Christine Hansen was born April 5, 1929, in rural Olin, Iowa. She was the daughter of Thomas C. and Christine Paulsen Hansen. She attended school at Olin. Helen was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith. Before she married, Helen worked at Collins Radio in Cedar Rapids. Helen and Wilbur D. Hansen of Keystone were united in marriage at St. Marks Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids, on April 20, 1958. They lived their married lives in Olin and Anamosa.
Helen was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Anamosa, Antioch Social Circle, Tops and the Birthday Club. She enjoyed volunteering at the Newsletter, church office or wherever needed, being outdoors, nature, birds, cooking and crochet. She will be missed dearly by those who knew her best.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Anamosa or to Camp Courageous.
