Hangartner, Julie

Julie Hangartner, 67, of Solon, died Sunday, March 18, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. Family and friends will gather from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 23, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include her husband, Ronald; daughter, Letae (David Luciano) Pruisman-Luciano of Cedar Rapids; son, Ronald Pruisman of Cedar Rapids; sister, Kathi (Jay) Bolles of Cincinnati, Ohio; and three grandchildren, Deric Stutzman, Devon Stutzman and Christopher Luciano.

Julie was born Feb. 24, 1945, in Kansas City, Kan., the daughter, of Duane and Mary Elizabeth (Rawrie) Calkins. She married Ronald D. Hangartner at the Little Brown Church on Dec. 27, 1980. Julie worked for several area motels as a housekeeper and in the cafeteria for Cedar Rapids Community Schools, but her favorite job was taking care of children at the Little Angels Daycare in Swisher. She enjoyed crafts, playing cards and most important of all, spending time with her grandkids.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
