Hamode O. Hasson, 83, of Cedar Rapids, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Monday, December 16, 2024.
Hamode was born January 24, 1941, in Fort Dodge, Iowa to Charlie and Scina (Habhab) Hasson. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Hamode married his wife, Judy, on September 12, 1969, in Cedar Rapids. They enjoyed 55 wonderful years together. He gave over fifty years of service to Laborers’ Local #43 and proudly served as their Business Agent before he retired. He enjoyed socializing and spending time with his many friends, and he was an avid sports enthusiast. He also thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters and his great-grandson.
Hamode is survived by his loving wife, Judy Hasson; his sisters Karma Hamood and Dianne McDowell (Layne), his brothers David Deaver (Judy) and Douglas Deaver, his children, Sandy Jordan (Steve), Rob Slocum, Mike Hasson (Kris), his grandchildren Ava and Jenna Hasson, Elaine Hoffman, and Richard Slocum, and great-grandson Mason.
Hamode is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Kenneth Hasson, his brother Dean Deaver, and his daughter Jolene Hoffman.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 21 at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. This will be immediately followed by a reception at the Family Center at Cedar Memorial.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project or to the ASPCA.
