Ham, Thomas M. 'Tom'
Thomas M. “Tom” Ham, 60, of Montezuma, formerly longtime resident of Iowa City, died Thursday, March 21, 2013, at the Grinnell Regional Medical Center from complications of ALS. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 25, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Solon. Burial to follow at Oakland Cemetery in Solon. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City and after 10 a.m. Monday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Tom's memory.

Thomas Marvin Ham was born Aug. 6, 1952, in Iowa City, the son of Marvin J. and Elizabeth A. “Betty” (Zajicek) Ham. He graduated from West High School in 1970 and also from Northwestern University in Chicago as a certified Ortotist. He had worked as a certified Orthotist for over 40 years; for many years as manager of American Prosthetics and Orthotics.
If you knew Tom, you knew a man with great wit, humor and zest for life. Along with Sharon, whom he married over 30 years ago on Oct. 17, 1981, his love of his family and friends were his world. He was a member in a number of professional organizations through his work; a member of the NRA, Pheasants Forever, and the Jaycees as a lifetime senator.
His family includes his wife, Sharon; children, Donald Mueller (Kristen) of Cedar Rapids, Michelle Butler (Jerry) of Grinnell and Cari Muir (Ben) of San Antonio, Texas; three grandchildren, Chandler, Makenzie and Regan; and his sister, Phyllis Meade (Ron) of Iowa City.
Tom was preceded in death by his mother, Betty, who died the same day as Tom did; his father, Marvin; daughter, Merrick Ham; sisters, Bonnie Noel and Patricia Haman; and his brother, Ron Ham and Ron's wife, Dawn.
