Helen Lewis Halstead, 84, of Iowa City, died Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014, at the Briarwood Care Center in Iowa City. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service, where visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her memory.

Her family includes nine children, Sandy Cole (Dick), Patricia Augustine (Clayton), Rebecca Miller (James), Marcia Carlson (Keith Stanfield), Howard Lewis (Pat), Mike Lewis (Mary), Rick Lewis, Connie Mason (Regis), and Bill Halstead (Bobbi); numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; sister, Geneva Mech; and her dear family friend, Cindy Onnen.
