Halse, Ronald Wayne
Ronald Wayne Halse, 80, of Marion, passed away Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012, at St. Luke's Hospital following a brief illness. Funeral services including military rites will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 6, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories with Pastor Nick Longworth officiating. Burial will be immediately following the service at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories.
Ronald Halse was born March 28, 1932, in Decorah, Iowa, the son of Clifford and Marjorie (Pierce) Halse. He married Corrine Jeanne Hilsenbeck on Nov. 8, 1959, in Marion, Iowa, and celebrated 50 years of marriage in 2009. Ron also proudly served in the U, S, Army during the Korean conflict. He was wounded and discharged in 1953.
Ron was survived by his wife, Corrine; three brothers-in-law, Jim (Gladys) Hilsenbeck, Jerry (Janet) Hilsenbeck and Curtis (and friend Susan) Hilsenbeck; uncle, Marshall Pierce; aunt, Evelyn Pierce; cousin, Donald (Norma) Halse; and many nieces, nephews and more cousins as well special people, Alvin and Sarah Tibbott.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; uncle, Merlyn Pierce; aunt, Irene Pierce; and in-laws, Howard (Doris) Hilsenbeck.
In lieu of flowers, friends are encouraged to contribute to Camp Courageous in Ron's name.
