Pete was born in Ottawa, Ill., on Nov. 2, 1943, to Walter and Dorothy (Zeller) Halm. He married Mary Ann Fanti on Sept. 5, 1964. Pete and Mary Ann both attended Marquette High School in Ottawa. Pete graduated from Northern Illinois University, where he played baseball.

Pete gave of himself in many ways, including once heading the Regis LaSalle Foundation. He also enjoyed helping with the St. Jude's Sweet Corn Festival, but his daily mission was to make grandkids laugh.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and Walter Halm; parents-in-law, Mary and Ernest Fanti; and brother-in-law, Ronald Fanti.
He was loved dearly and will be greatly missed.
