Hall, Vernon D. 'Bud'
Vernon D. “Bud” Hall, 84, died Oct. 12, 2011, at home. Memorial services: 2 p.m. Oct. 15, White Funeral Home, Independence. Burial: Mount Hope Cemetery, Independence.
He was born April 9, 1927, in Independence, the son of Evan Lorraine and Gladys Marie (Hall) Hall. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy. On April 26, 1947, he and Margaret Lucille Cornwell were married in Independence.
Mr. Hall is survived by his wife of 64 years, Lucille; two daughters, Margaret “Peg” Weber of Weki Wachee, Fla., and Cindy (Michael) Dunn of Cedar Rapids; a son, Timothy (Sheila) Hall of Dubuque; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by two sisters, Pauline Bellmer of Oelwein and Linda (Ed) Short of Sioux Falls, S.D.; and a brother, “Skip” (Marsha) Hall of Guttenberg.
He was preceded in death by a son, Vernon “Buddy” Hall Jr.
