Leonard G. Hall, 79, of Winthrop, Maine, passed away Sunday, May 30, 2010, after a courageous struggle with cancer.
He was born in Garner, Iowa, on Sept. 2, 1930, the son of George and Lena (Dietz) Hall. Len graduated from Garner High School in 1948. He survived polio during high school and was class president and valedictorian. He began his studies at Kendall College in Illinois, graduating from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. He then went on to Luther Theological Seminary in St. Paul, Minn., doing his graduate studies at the University of Minnesota.

He was a member and chaplain at the Alfred Maxwell American Legion Post 40 in Winthrop, Maine. He was also a member and past president of the congregation of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Augusta, Maine.
