Hall, Carolyn M.
Carolyn M. Hall, 72, of East Dundee, Ill., died Saturday, Sept. 5, 2009, at her home surrounded by her family. Family and friends will meet for funeral services on Wednesday, Sept. 9, at 2 p.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 401 W. Main St., West Dundee, Ill. The Rev. Steven Woita and the Rev. Phillip Baerwold will co-officiate. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Conroy, Iowa. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3 to 7 p.m. at Miller Funeral Home in West Dundee, Ill., and Wednesday from 1 p.m. to time of service at the church.
Carolyn was born Feb. 7, 1937, in Salem, N.J. She was the daughter of Homer and Lyndel (nee Berry) Morris. Carolyn was a seven-year resident of the Dundee area, a former resident of Lombard and a 14-year resident of her most favorite place on earth, Door County, Wis.
In her retirement, Carolyn enjoyed bowling, water aerobics, fishing, quilting and needle work and her beloved Chicago White Sox and Greenbay Packers. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in West Dundee and the church's SOS group. While serving in the United States Army, she met her future husband, Bruce E. Hall. They were married Jan. 5, 1957.
Carolyn is survived by her husband of 52 years, Bruce; their children, Debra (Bill) Tolsma of East Grand Rapids, Mich., Steven (Rita) Hall of Algonquin, Ill., and Nancy (Wayne) Swartz of Port Charlotte, Fla. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren, Eric, Alison, Randy, CJ, Michael, Katherine and Kaitlin; her two brothers; Ray “Bud” (Beverly) Morris of Florida and Chuck Morris of New Jersey; and her sister-in-law, Shirley (Steve) Cornell of Crystal Lake, Ill.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Homer Morris Jr.
