Hale, A. Jeanette
A. Jeanette Hale, 85, of 1453 Richmond Rd. NE, Cedar Rapids, died Monday, July 23. 2012, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha after a long illness. Services at 11 a.m. Thursday at The Church on Northland. The Rev. Jim Goodrich will officiate. Inurnment at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home and after 10 a.m. Thursday at the church.
Survivors include her husband, Milton; three sons, James (Joan) of Cedar Rapids, Jerald (Audrey) of Manchester and John (Mary) of Mount Vernon; and two daughters, Jennifer (John) Kennedy of Aurora, Colo., and Jolene (Al) Bierbrodt of Anamosa.
She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Esther and Una.
Jeanette was born on Sept. 19, 1926, in Hopkinton, the daughter of Edwin and Rhoda Wilson Bacon. She married Milton L. Hale on Jan. 27, 1951, in Marion. Jeanette was a homemaker, a faithful member of The Church on Northland, the Gideon's and did volunteer work at the St. Luke's Gift Shop for many years. Jeanette enjoyed the trip she and M.L. took to England on their 40th anniversary, and the time she spent with her beloved family especially her grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Gideon's.
