Hahn, Norbert B.
Norbert B. Hahn, 96, of Cedar Rapids, died at his Meth-Wick Community home, Saturday, Oct. 30, 2010. Services: 1 p.m. Thursday at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel by the Rev. Daniel Krueger of Zion Lutheran Church. Interment:Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, with military honors. A visitation will be held one hour before the service at the funeral home.
Norbert is survived by his friends, Ken and Ginni Kolek of Central City; nephew, Nicholas Olson of Jamul, Calif.; nieces, Sharon Nicholas of Dodgeville, Wis., and Ann Nicholas Pullman of Alpine, N.J.; and sister-in-law, Mary Olson of Jamul, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Linda Hahn; and his wife, Donna.
Norbert was born Nov. 10, 1913, in Waterloo, to Andrew and Linda Grossmann Hahn. He attended Emmanuel Parochial School and East High School in Waterloo and graduated from Old Washington High School in Cedar Rapids in 1932.
Norbert was a World War II veteran and spent three years in the South Pacific with the Navy Seabees. Norbert was employed at Stamats Publishing Co., now Stamats Communications, for 44 years.
On Sept. 5, 1953, he married Donna Nicholas and were married for 43 years until her death in 1996. Norbert was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and a lifetime member of the American Legion Hanford Post No. 5 and the V.F.W. Post No. 788.
