Haefner Jr., George H.
George H. Haefner Jr., 77, died Friday, Nov. 27, 2009, at the Vinton Lutheran Home following an extended illness. Friends may call at Phillips Funeral Home, 212 E. Sixth St., Vinton, from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday. Private family committal services will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Vinton.
A memorial fund has been established.
George was born July 14, 1932, at Blairstown, to George H. Sr. and Bessie (Trimble) Haefner. He married Doris M. Cress on Dec. 24, 1954, in Vinton. He loved carpentering, playing cards and bowling.
Survivors include his wife, Doris of Vinton; his sons, Russell (Kristy) of Dysart and Kevin (Julie) of Vinton; his daughters, Collette (Harry) Harrison of Holiday Lake and Renee (Darby) Stein of Vinton; his brother, Donnie (Sharon) of Vinton; and his twin sister, JoAnn Roster of Vinton. Also surviving are nine grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; five great-grandchildren and five stepgreat-grandchildren.
