Gustava Wilhelmina Larson, 98, of Marion, died Friday, Aug. 28, 2015, at Winslow House. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, officiated by the Rev. David Renfro. A visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Monday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Entomb-ment will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Gustava was born Dec. 23, 1916, in Farmersburg, Iowa, to John and Lucille (Radloff) Hagensick. She was united in marriage to Glenn Larson on Dec. 1, 1936, in Farmersburg.
She assisted her husband, operating Glenn J. Larson Construction Co. Inc., and served as the secretary treasurer for the company.
After she and Glenn retired, they enjoyed traveling to all 50 United States, each province in Canada, Europe, and yearly visits to their condo in Pompano Beach, Fla.
Gustava was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where she previously participated in the altar sewing circle and home missionary.
She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her daughter, Janice Johnston of Springville; grandson, John (Kim) Johnston of Cedar Rapids; great-grandson, Cole Johnston of Cedar Rapids; sister, Delpha Mae Larson of Marion; several nieces and nephews; as well as a dear friend of the family, Ron Wegner.
Gustava was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Glenn; son-in-law, John Johnston Sr.; as well as two sisters, Miranda Kalke and Marie Seeland.
A memorial fund in Gustava's name has been established to Winslow House or Trinity Lutheran Church.
