Guillaume Jr., Alvin A.
Alvin A. Guillaume Jr. of Seguin, Texas, formerly of Cedar Rapids, passed away Jan. 19, 2010, at the age of 83. A memorial mass will be held Tuesday, Jan. 26, at 10 a.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. Private interment will be held at a later date.
Al is survived by his wife of 57 years, Pauline; daughters, Cynthia Van Den Baard of Seguin, Texas, Debra Stewart of Cibolo, Texas and Cheryl Wood of Cascade; sons, Paul Guillaume of Sarasota, Fla., Clyde Guillaume of Iowa City, Alvin Guillaume of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Francis Guillaume of Mount Vernon; 15 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers and two sisters.
Alvin was born July 16, 1926, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Venita and Alvin Guillaume Sr. He was a veteran of World War II and retired from Hydro Carbon Transportation of Iowa City as an electronics technician.
