Guglielmetti, Raymond J.
Raymond J. Guglielmetti, 87, died Monday, May 23, 2011, at the Belle Plaine Nursing and Rehab Center following a short illness. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 26, at the Hrabak Funeral Home by the Rev. James Campbell. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Ray was born to Franklin and Mary Guglielmetti on April 8, 1924, in Vermillion County, Ind. He grew up in Blanford, Ind., attending school through the eighth grade. He moved to Belle Plaine, Iowa, in 1943. Ray worked at Amana Refrigeration for 33 years. He also trimmed trees and grubbed out stumps.
Ray married Norma Bostian on April 6, 1944. They were married 29 years before Norma passed away in 1973. Together they had three children, a daughter, Linda Van Hamme of Belle Plaine; a son, Dick, of Belle Plaine; and son, John of Sigourney.
Also surviving are four grandchildren, Lisa Garling. Megan (Mike) Landuyt, Leah (Travis) Upah and Josh Van Hamme, all of Belle Plaine; and five great-grandchildren: Alexis, Abby, Bryce and Braden Landuyt and Boston Upah.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding around town in his car and visiting with everyone.
