Guehrn, Donald E.
Donald E. Guehrn, 63, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, Jan. 13, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids from a heart attack. Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 20, 2012, at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids by Father Philip Thompson. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 19, 2012, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion where a parish vigil service will begin at 4 p.m. There also will be visitation one hour prior to the Mass at the church. Graveside service: 2:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 20, 2012, at Genoa Bluff Cemetery, rural Ladora.
Survivors include his wife, Donna, of Cedar Rapids; a daughter, Kristy (Brandon) Powers; two stepdaughters, Lora Bryan and Karen Mull; a brother, Gary (Linda) Guehrn; two sisters, Linda (Jerrell) Barnes and Sally (Chuck) Heppner; two grandchildren, Bradley and Brooke Mull; and his grand-pup, “Scrappy.”
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Roger.
Donald was born Aug. 10, 1948, the son of Mervin and Evelyn (Keil) Guehrn in Marengo. On Aug. 14, 1999, he married Donna Mardorf in Anamosa.
He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids.
A memorial fund has been established in Donald's memory.
