GRYNNETH PARIZEK
Lone Tree
Grynneth U. Rhoades Parizek "Mrs. P.," 86, of Marion, formerly of Lone Tree, passed away Friday, May 9, 2014, surrounded by her family.
Grynneth was born in Delta, Iowa, Jan. 23, 1928, and married Donald "Mike" Parizek on March 5, 1950. She worked at the Lone Tree School for 27 years as a cook and crossing guard where she became "Mrs. P."
As a crossing guard, she realized no one was stopping at the new stop signs in front of the school. She began nailing up signs with sayings on them. People did stop and looked forward to new sayings each day. She received letters from people nationwide who were touched by her sayings. She collected them into a book, "My Little Corner of the World." Her favorite was, "By the Time Man Has Money to Burn, the Pilot Light is Out."
Mrs. P. dedicated her life to her community where she touched many lives as a longtime Girl Scout leader, member of the chamber of commerce, historical society, United Presbyterian Church, Old Settlers and school volunteer.
She met many wonderful friends as a cohost of Camp Courageous' trips to Branson, Mo., along side her good friend, Leo Greco. She was a recipient of KCRG's "9 Who Care" award for her fundraising efforts for the camp.
Her most cherished
moments were times spent with her grandkids.
Survivors include her children, Rhoada Stahle and George Bronstorp, Pueblo, Colo., Michel and Karen Parizek, Wyatt and Ronda Parizek, Lone Tree, Patty Krenz and Lyle Jenks, Riverside, and Ramona and Mike Ivins,

Special thanks to the wonderful and loving staff at Winslow House, you treated her like family and we couldn't ask for more. Also to the ER and hospice staff at St. Luke's Hospital for your amazing support in her final hours. Your compassion was second to none.
Per her wishes, there will be no visitation or
