Grother III, Clifford Leroy
Clifford Leroy Grother III, 56, of Pompano Beach, Fla., formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Feb. 11, 2013, in Pompano Beach. A Celebration of Life service will be held in June at Palisades-Kepler State Park in Mount Vernon. Details will be published at a later date. His body was cremated.
Survivors include his children, Jesse Grother, Jason Coad and Joshua Haines; brothers, Gifford Grother (Julie), Rod Grother (Mary) and Dennis Lange (Angela); and sisters, Deborah Hudson (Rob Szabo) and Becky Quinby (Dan). Cliff had many nieces and nephews he adored: Scott, Miranda, Tina, Krystal, Austin, Justus, Jesse, Heidi, Raylynn, Danny, Jordan, Jennifer, Jessica, Matthew, Ashley, Keegan, Tara, Mark, Aaron, Daniel, Derek, Taylor, Austin, Grace and Faith. He also had many great-nieces and great-nephews; his stepfather, Glenn Lange; stepsiblings; and other family members he loved.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Lange; father, Clifford Grother Jr.; niece, Missy Sue; and all of his grandparents.
Cliff was born in Panama City, Fla., and attended school in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He had several small business over the years. He loved spending time outdoors, dirt track racing, boating, camping, fishing, shooting pool, cooking, and he LOVED picking old antiques and old collectibles. Cliff had the ability to make people feel special and loved, he enjoyed the small things in life, he loved making people laugh and took pride in being called goofball by the kids.
Clifford will be greatly missed.
