Gross, Duncan L.
Duncan L. Gross, 65, of Manchester, passed away suddenly on Oct. 4, 2011, at Regional Medical Center in Manchester.
Duncan was born June 6, 1946, in West Union, Iowa, to Henry L. and Irene E. (Drewes) Gross. Duncan married Jean Sanders on May 7, 1966, in Hawkeye. Duncan served in the Army for four years and upon his return home became involved in law enforcement in Delaware County, retiring in 2001.
Duncan was preceded in death by his father, Henry L. Gross.
Duncan is survived by his wife of 45 years, Jean, of Manchester; children: daughters Krista Cooke (Randy) of Walker and Heidi Barnhart (Brian) of Cedar Rapids; and son, Corey Gross (Janae) of Cedar Falls; grandchildren, Ashley Hill (Scott) of Cedar Rapids, Alisha Cooke of Walker, Brant, Hunter, Brock and Blake Barnhart of Cedar Rapids; great grandchild, Jace Hill of Cedar Rapids; mother, Irene Gross of West Union; brothers, Reginald Gross (Donna) of West Union and Lee Gross (Roxanne) of Beverly Hills, Calif.; sister, Sarina Chapman (Dennis) of Ankeny; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, at the Manchester United Methodist Church, with visitation starting before the service at 9:30 a.m.
