Gritsch, John 'Gene'
John “Gene” Gritsch, 78, of Malcom, died Saturday, Aug. 27, 2011, at his home. A celebration of his life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31, at the Trinity Lutheran Church on Highway 63, north of Malcom. Interment will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Smith Funeral Home, 1103 Broad St., Grinnell. The family will be present to greet friends from 5 to 8 p.m.
Memorials may be designated to the Trinity Lutheran Church, 3628 Highway 63, Malcom, IA 50157.

Gene is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marlene Gritsch of Malcom; his daughters, Jo (Don) Cox of Wenatchee, Wis., and Lu (Brian) Francies of Brooklyn; four grandchildren, Chad and Tina Harter of Grinnell, and Clay and Clint Earhart of Altoona; and his sister, Norma Anderson of Phoenix, Ariz.
