Grimm, Norma Lucille
Norma Lucille Grimm, 91, of West Branch, died Sunday, Dec. 4, 2011, at Crestview Nursing and Rehab Center. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, at the Bethany Lutheran Church, West Branch. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Branch. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Muscatine, after a time of food and fellowship at the church.

Norma was born July 19, 1920, on the family farm in rural Stockton. She was the daughter of Roy and Minnie Paul Egel. She graduated from Davenport Central High school. On June 1, 1939, she was united in marriage to Gerald L. Grimm in Pleasant Prairie. She farmed alongside her husband in the New Era and Nichols area. Later she worked in the business office at the University of Iowa, retiring in 1983 after 25 years. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in West Branch and was a longtime member of the Eastern Star at Nichols and West Branch. She held several offices including past Worthy Matron.
Survivors include daughter, Ellen (Ron) Oostendorp of Nichols; son, John (Jan) Grimm of West Branch; four grandchildren, Mike Oostendorp of St. Louis, John Oostendorp of Cedar Rapids, J.D. Grimm of North Liberty, and Jason Grimm of Solon; nine great-grandchildren, Brooke, Megan and Madison Oostendorp of St. Louis, Maci, Jay and Jake Oostendorp of Cedar Rapids, Ellie and J.J. Grimm of North Liberty, and Owen Grimm of Solon; and sister, Nelda Lauser of Wilton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gerald; brothers, Duane and Kenneth; and sisters, Janice Egel and Farene Harmsen.
