Gregory Richard Waite, 68, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Sunday, Jan. 23, 2022, at St Luke's Hospital. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 31, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Visitation: 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 30, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories Stateroom. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include his daughter, Tessa (Ashley) Berry of Marion; along with an honorary daughter, Nicole Sniegowski of Alburnett; grandchildren, Derek Waite, Abigale Bass, Mason Garland, Aiden Berry and Adelynn Berry; and sisters, Marsha (Sonny) Crow of Marion and Gloria (Henry) Hutto of Mobile, Ala.
Greg was preceded in death by his parents; the love of his life, Kathie Waite; daughter, Leminda Waite; and a brother, Michael Waite.
Gregory Waite was born Sept. 12, 1953, in Cedar Rapids, to Richard and Ruth Waite. He was united in marriage to Kathie on Dec. 20, 1974. Greg worked for Bernet Concrete for over 30 years. Greg enjoyed gardening, canning, home improvement projects, working on small engines and capturing photos of his family. Greg was wonderful dad, great-grandfather and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
