Gregory W. Price, 65, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, Dec. 12, 2014, at his home after a long illness.
Memorial services with military rites will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Survivors include two daughters, Penny (Jason) Thompson and Dawn Starr, all of Cedar Rapids; and two sons, Curtis (Candy) Clark of Cedar Rapids and James (Darla) Clark of New Mexico. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and his two dogs, Bambi and Little Bit. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; a daughter, Renee Clark; and a sister, Marcia.
Greg was born on June 24, 1949, in Cedar Rapids, the son of George and Helen Van Dyke Price. He married Betty I. Chesmore on Jan. 4, 1991, in Cedar Rapids. Betty passed away in 2010.
Greg worked for the city of Cedar Rapids in the sanitation department for over 30 years, retiring in 2010. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
He enjoyed working crossword puzzles, camping, watching his beloved 49ers football team and especially the time he spent with his many friends and beloved family. His memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
