Gregory Hal Jameson, 73, passed away July 2, 2023. He was born June 12, 1950, in Vallejo, Calif., to the late Harold Russell and Barbara Jeanette (Hayden) Jameson.
Gregory served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army and earned his bachelor's degree in geology from Iowa State University. For most of his career, he worked for the Army Corps of Engineers as a geologist and geo mapping expert.
He was a member of the Greater Fredericksburg Kennel Club in Virginia for many years and was passionate about dog training and taught puppy obedience classes. He retired to Sarasota in 2015.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of nine years, Brenda; son, Kevin Ryan Jameson; brother, Hayden Jameson, and his wife, Tracy; sister, Shannon; and his beloved Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Clancy, Porter, Culla and Willa.
In addition to his parents, Gregory was predeceased by his sister, Sheila.
A private service with military honors will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 17, at Sarasota National Cemetery, for family. A gathering and celebration for friends will follow at 11:30 a.m. with memorial service starting at noon at Maloney Funeral Home, 2401 Cattlemen Rd., Sarasota, FL 34232.
