Gregory "Greg" D. Schatzle, 65, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 16, 2021, at St. Luke's Hospital. A private family inurnment at Coggon Cemetery will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion.
Greg was born Dec. 29, 1955, in Manchester, Iowa,
the son of Phillip F. and Sandra A. (Milroy) Schatzle. He graduated from North Linn High School. Greg was the owner/operator of several convenience stores over the years. He enjoyed reading. Greg loved his pet cats and dogs – they were his children.
He is survived by his parents, Phillip and Sandra Schatzle of Coggon; three sisters, Charlene (Mitch) Siddell, Christine Schatzle and Deneen (Jon) Mangas, all of Coggon; two brothers, Mike (Jody) Schatzle of Coggon and Dan "Booner" (Deb) Schatzle of Walker; 12 nieces and nephews; several cousins; and 20 great-nieces and nephews.
Greg was preceded in death by his grandparents; great-nephews, Samuel and Luke; and several aunts and uncles.
