Greenwood, Jane Ann
Jane Ann Greenwood, 82, of Monticello, died Sunday, Oct. 17, 2010, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21, at Kramer Funeral Home in Monticello, where a parish Scripture service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Monticello, with burial in the church cemetery. Officiating will be the Rev. Keith Birch and assisting will be Deacon Steven Strang.
Jane Ann was born on Jan. 15, 1928, in Cascade, Iowa, the daughter of Al and Olivia (Loes) Strang. She attended country school in Cascade, and married Dwight Greenwood on Nov. 26, 1946, in Cascade, Iowa. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Monticello, and worked at the John McDonald Hospital, the Monticello Senior Home and the Anamosa Care Center. She had a great love for playing cards, playing bingo and making pies.
Survivors include her children, Mary Lou (Chuck) Classen, Mark Greenwood and Luanus (Paul) Jamieson, all of Monticello, Lynne (John) Richter of Earlville, and Cheryl (Don) Marcov of Dubuque; siblings, Rosemary Heims-Turnis of Cedar Rapids, Alan (Evadeen) Strang, John (LaVonne) Strang and Steven (Nancy) Strang, all of Cascade, and Thomas Strang of Cedar Rapids; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Jimmie; two grandsons, Jason Wolfe and Eddie Hemmer Jr.; a granddaughter, Jennifer Jamieson; and sisters, Winona Schlemme and Phillis Gross.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at St. Luke's Hospital and Hospice for their loving care.
