Grecian, Lorraine Ethyl

Lorraine Ethyl Grecian, 83, of Marshalltown, formerly of Lone Tree, passed away Oct. 14, 2012, at Iowa River Hospice of Marshalltown.

Lorraine was born Dec. 16, 1928, to Orville and Ethel Baker of Lone Tree. She graduated from Lone Tree High School in 1946. She married Paul Grecian on Dec. 29, 1947.

Her favorite pastime was to go dancing with her husband. She loved her flower garden and driving her car. She enjoyed NASCAR races and was a Mopar fan. Lorraine was a partner on the farm and worked as the principal's secretary at the Lone Tree Community School for 41 years before retirement. She was an excellent cook. She was organized, efficient, an outstanding gardener and had a great love for her home and farm. She was an independent, classy woman with style.

Lorraine is survived by her loving husband, Paul; a son, Daryl (Judy) Grecian of Solon; and a daughter, Colene Grecian of Marshalltown. She has three grandchildren, Angela Grecian Daoud of Mason City, Andrew Grecian of Solon and Erika Hilleman of Marshalltown; and three great-grandchildren, Kristina, Khalil and Joey Daoud. She has two sisters, Darlene (Clarence) Lenz and Evelyn Hemsted.

Lorraine requested no services and for everyone to remember her as she was in their hearts and memories.

Memorials in her name may be sent to Iowa River Hospice of Marshalltown or the Lone Tree Community School.
