Graybeal, Mary Lou
Mary Lou Graybeal, 96, of Berwick, Iowa, died Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2010, at Taylor House, Des Moines. Graveside services: 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, at Chapel Hill Cemetery, Des Moines. Visitation will be one hour before services at Merle Hay Funeral Home in Des Moines.
Those left to honor Mary Lou's memory include her sons, Marvin of Berwick, Dean (Lynn) of Cedar Rapids and Kent (Jean) of Spokane, Wash.; granddaughter, Andrea Hanlon; cousin, Gary (Judy) Herrin; and her beloved cat, Kandy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Marvin.
Mary Lou, the daughter of Fred E. and Stella (Kaufman) Waitz, was born May 10, 1914, in Toledo, Ohio. She was united in marriage with Marvin Graybeal in August 1934. This union was blessed with three sons, Marvin, Dean and Kent. Mary Lou was a homemaker, and had also worked in drapery departments of several department stores.
