Gravelie, Grace Lucile Grady
Grace Lucile Grady Gravelie, 94, of The Meth-Wick Community, died there Wednesday, July 24, 2012. Services: 5 p.m. Saturday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, where a visitation will begin at 4 p.m. The Rev. Joel DeSousa will officiate. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include her daughters, Eleanor (Warren) Nicholas of Grayslake, Ill., and Marilyn (Terry) Moe of Cedar Rapids; two sons, Bruce Grady of Fairfield and Scott (Ellen) Gravelie and son of Ada, Mich.; five grandchildren, Jennifer (Joe) Forsman, Michele (Dean) Chronopoulos, Shannon (Angela) Moe, Janele (John) Roling and Tracy (Chris) Taylor; 15 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Rosalie Morris; her brothers, Russell, Walter and Howard Ralston; her husbands, Wayne H. Grady and Albert T. Gravelie; infant son, Richard Lee Grady; and a great-grandson, Zachary David Roling.
Grace Lucile Ralston was born Dec. 19, 1917, near Earlham, Iowa, the daughter of David Shannon Ralston and Bessie Kerr Ralston. She received her education in the Earlham School and Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls. She taught school near Dexter and Preston, Iowa. She was a homemaker. Grace married Wayne H. Grady on May 30, 1941. He died March 11, 1999. She then married Albert T. Gravelie on July 15, 2000. He died July 11, 2007.
She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, where she served as Sunday school teacher, Deacon, Elder and was a member of Naomi Circle of the Presbyterian Women's Organization and PEO Chapter J.I.
She loved her family, music and especially playing the piano and quilting.
Memorials may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church, The Salvation Army or Camp Courageous.
