Grant Wilcox Bramel, 96, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2019, at Methwick Manor. Memorial service: 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 18, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Inurnment: Oak Hill Cemetery at a later date.
Grant was born Jan. 27, 1922, the son of Willard and Merlie (Wilcox) in naval Decatur, Ill. He was married to Bettye Burgess on April 25, 1943, in Knoxville, Tenn. Grant served in the U.S. Air Force as a fighter pilot in World War II in Italy. He was employed with Quaker Oats, Farm Elevators in Chicago, Fort Dodge and Cedar Rapids. Grant was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his daughter, Sandra Raymon of Cedar Rapids; grandson, Jonathan (Laurel) Raymon of Louisville, Ky.; and a granddaughter, Sara Raymon of Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bettye, and his parents.
Memorials may be directed to Methwick Community, First Presbyterian Church or Camp Courageous in memory of Grant.
