Graham, Sandra
Sandra Graham, 65, of West Union, passed away Monday, April 25, 2011, at home of cancer. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 30, at Bethel Presbyterian Church in West Union. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Burnham-Wood Funeral Home, West Union.
Sandra Geurtz Graham was born April 2, 1946, in Melbourne, Australia, the daughter of Arie and Barbara Geurtz. She came to the United States through Holland as a young child. Sandy graduated from Radner High School, Radner, Pa. She graduated from Denison University, Granville, Ohio, with a degree in English. She was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority. Sandy worked for AT&T, Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. and the American Institute of Plant Engineers. She also sold Longaberger Baskets for 29 years, winning numerous sales awards. Recently, Sandy worked at Curves in West Union.
Sandy enjoyed traveling, cross stitch, stamping, quilting, her many collections and her numerous friends. When you would talk with Sandy, she could make you feel like you were the only person who mattered to her. She was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church, West Union, where she served on the session and was a Stephens Minister. Sandy was a member of P.E.O.
Her family includes her husband of 39 years, Richard; son, Charles (Amy) Graham; daughters, Sarah (Deric) Sieck and Katharine Graham; grandchildren, Creighton Graham and Ella Sieck; and sister Maureen (Ronald) Jobson.
Preceding her in death were her parents.
