Gorsuch, Ruth
Ruth Gorsuch, 95, passed away Jan. 17, 2013, at Cottage Grove Place, her home of more than 10 years, with her family by her side. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. A private family interment was held in Montezuma.
Ruth grew up in Grinnell, Iowa, where she met her husband, Robert Gorsuch. They were married for nearly 50 years. Since 1946, Ruth lived in Cedar Rapids, where she was a sweet and loving mother, a devoted wife and a dear friend to many. She was an active member of Kenwood Park Presbyterian Church for many years.
Ruth is survived by her three daughters, Carol Fouts (Donald) of Galena, Ill., Kathie Anderson (Mike) of Des Moines and Joyce McCoy (Allen) of Overland Park, Kan.; five grandchildren, Jason Fouts, Justin Fouts (Daisy), Lauran Jordan (Dan), Caleb McCoy and Hannah Ruth McCoy; three great-grandchildren, Leo Fouts, Martina Fouts and Eddie Jordan; and other special people in her life, Jane Kelly, Kathy Sheets and Helen Kunkel.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Gorsuch; her parents, Milton and Edna Stanley; and a brother, Eugene Stanley, who lost his life at age 18 while serving in World War II. Ruth would never stop missing him.
