Gorius, Betty A.
Betty A. Gorius, 80, of Cedar Rapids, lost her long battle with COPD Sunday, March 14, 2010, in Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha. Funeral Mass: 10 a.m., Friday at St. Jude's Catholic Church, by Father Mark Reasoner. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Burial: Mount Calvary Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, Ed; children, June (John) Paul of Napa, Calif., Mary (Ken) Kray of Delhi, Bill (Connie) Gorius of Ankeny, Teresa (Dan) Roth of Coralville, and Linda (Bruce) Reynolds of Cosgrove; grandchildren, Sarah, Jon, Callie, Brittany, Tiffany and Shelby; great-grandchildren, Nikki, Chloe and Allyson; sister, Doris Hallenbeck of Florida; and many nieces and nephews.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; and three brothers.
Born June 23, 1929, Betty was the daughter of Francis and Mary (Sadesky) Foley. On May 13, 1952, she was united in marriage to Ed Gorius in Marion. She retired from US West after 30 years of service.
Spending time with her family, especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her great joy.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Betty's memory.
