Gordon Young, 76, of Ely, passed away at his home on Tuesday, May 19, 2015.
Gordon was born on Feb. 19, 1939, in Etobicoke, Ontario, the son of the late Ralph and Irene (Akerman) Young. He married Ann Tobin on Oct. 18, 1958, in Palos Verdes, Calif.
He worked as an engineering manager for the copper and brass industry until his retirement. He was passionate about hockey, Notre Dame football, wood carving, fishing, golfing, cooking and most deeply about his family.
In addition to his wife, Ann, he is survived by four sons, Gregory, Brian, Scott and Jeff; a daughter, Erin; grandchildren, Geoffrey, Brent, Amberly, Brianna, Caitlyn, Skye, Keenan and bonus grandchildren, Hayley and Aaron; four great-grandchildren; and by his brother, Ron Young.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Perkins.
Private family services were held at the Brosh Chapel. A memorial in his name has been established by the family.
