Gordon, Verneta Irene Gorsh Nowotny
Verneta Irene Gorsh Nowotny Gordon, 87, of Victor, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 16, 2013, surrounded by her family. Per her wishes there will be no visitation or funeral. Her family will gather privately at a later date. Burial will be in Victor Memorial Cemetery. Kloster Funeral Home, Brooklyn, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Verneta is survived by her sons, Marty Nowotny and wife Terri of Victor and Randy Nowotny of Brooklyn; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Harold and Earl; 10 brothers and sisters; and an infant granddaughter and grandson.
Verneta Irene Gorsh was born March 20, 1926, in rural Millersburg, Iowa, the daughter of Frank Gorsh and Ethel Lacy Gorsh. She attended one-room country schools. Verneta married Harold Edward Nowotny on Jan. 11, 1948, in Cedar Rapids. She farmed with her family and also worked at Amana Refrigeration for 25 years.
