Gordon Ray Hurlbert, 95, of Amana passed away Monday January 20, 2025 at Colonial Manor – Amana Retirement Community.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home on Thursday, January 23, 2025. A Visitation will be held Friday, January 24, 2025 at 10:00 am until the 11:00 am Funeral Service celebrating Gordon’s life at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Interment will follow at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include his children, Clara Krumrei, Ron Hurlbert, Randy Hurlbert, and daughter-in-law Chris Hurlbert; grandchildren, Shawn, Amanda, Crystal, Trevor, Tyler, Kelsey, Tessa, and Megan; numerous great-grandchildren; and his brother Cecil.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife Marie, son Rick Hurlbert, son-in-law Neil Krumrei, and daughter-in-law Christine Hurlbert.
Gordon was born August 27, 1929 in Asbury, Missouri, the son of Ben and Clara (Ulmer) Hurlbert. Gordon married Marie on February 13, 1954 in Carthage, Missouri. Gordon was a member of the U.S. Army and later employed by Amana Refrigeration for over 40 years. He enjoyed cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals, woodworking, and could often be found at craft shows and flea markets with Marie.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Colonial Manor – Amana Retirement Community.
