Gordon, Donivan L.
Donivan L. Gordon of Coralville passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2011, at Mercy Hospice Care in Iowa City. A graveside funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Ridgeview Cemetery in North Liberty.
Donivan Lewis Gordon was born in Marshalltown, Iowa on Oct. 1, 1932, the son of Warren and Ada Gordon. He attended and graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1950. He received a bachelor's and master's degree from the University of Iowa, graduating in 1957. He married Margaret McCleod in 1960. He worked as a geologist for the State of Iowa for many years until retiring in 1996.
Donivan and Margaret were parents to three children: James D. Gordon M.D. of Tucson, Ariz., Andrew S. Gordon, Pharm.D., of Peoria, Ill., and Anne M. Gordon of Cedar Rapids.
Don is survived by his two sons, a daughter, and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret; and his parents.
Lensing Funeral Service in Iowa City is caring for Don's family and his service.
In lieu of flowers, monetary donations can be made to Iowa City Hospice or Mercy Inpatient Hospice.
