Goodwin-Conner, Jo
Jo Goodwin-Conner, 59, of Cedar Rapids, peacefully passed into the presence of Jesus in her home. Funeral services: 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 31, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion by Pastor Bryan Regier. Family will greet friends after 10 a.m. Monday.
Jo was preceded in death by her grandparents.
She is survived by per parents, Keith and Ellen Sacora; brothers, Rick Sacora (JoAnn Morris), Ken (Kathy) Sacora and Larry (Michelle) Sacora; and her children, Shelly Klouda, Dustin (April) Conner, John Conner and Joshua Goodwin. She has many nephews, nieces, and grandchildren as well.
Jo graduated from Marion High School in 1971 and years later earned her CMA degree at Kirkwood Community College. She moved to Denver, Colo., for several years and worked in a hospital where she had many friends. She returned to Cedar Rapids and was employed by Mercy Medical Center, where she worked in the lab. Jo enjoyed her job and worked hard to provide for her children. She was unable to work the past seven years, due to a stroke.
Jo enjoyed the simple things in life, like going to the park and being with her family. She loved Jesus and was always thankful for His sacrifice on the cross. Her favorite song was “I Bowed on My Knees and Cried Holy” by Michael English.
We love her very much and she will be greatly missed by all her family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Sacora family at PO Box 1202, Marion, IA 52302.
