Goodman, Arvella Burke
Arvella Burke Goodman, 95, of Marshalltown, died at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester on Thursday, Jan. 6, 2011. Mass of Resurrection: 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 10, at St. Henry's Catholic Church, Marshalltown, with the Rev. Donald Czapla officiating. Interment: St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Rhodes, Iowa. Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Manchester, with a Catholic Daughters of the Americas rosary at 2 p.m., and after 10 a.m. Monday at the church. Survivors include her three children, Earlene (Robert) Houlihan of Manchester, Roger (Ginny) Goodman of Somerdale, N.J., and Pat (Ann) Goodman of Muscatine; five grandchildren, John Houlihan of Manchester, Kathy Houlihan (Mark) Staudt of Grimes, Kate Goodman of New Jersey, Meg (Daniel) Hewes of Seattle and Rose Goodman of Muscatine; and three great-grandchildren, Nick, Anna and Izzy Staudt of Grimes.
Arvella was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Goodman in 1992; one sister and two brothers.
