Goodlove, Willard M. 'Bill'
Willard M. “Bill” Goodlove, 93, of Central City, died of cancer Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2012, at his home. Funeral Services: 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 27, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion. The family will greet friends from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial: Jordan's Grove Cemetery, Central City.
Survivors include his son, David (Nancy) Goodlove of Central City; two granddaughters, Maria (Ron) McFadden of Alburnett and Sara (Jay) Gallery of Troy Mills; and four great-grandchildren, Logan Pillard, Remington McFadden, Jenna Gallery and Natalie Gallery.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Zella; and seven brothers and sisters, Helen Story, Mildred Smola, Covert Goodlove, Winifred Gardner, Don Goodlove, Cecil Goodlove and Janet Goodlove.
Bill was born July 31, 1919, the son of Earl and Fannie Vesta (McAtee) Goodlove in Linn County. He attended Linn County Rural Schools and Central City Community Schools. On Oct. 29, 1940, he married Zella Mae Robertson in Iowa City. Bill was a lifelong farmer in and around the Central City area.
Bill attended Jordan's Grove Baptist Church and had memberships in the Masons, Level Lodge No. 284 A.F. & A.M. of Central City, Linn County Fair Board, Central City school board, Meadowview Country Club, and Wapsipinicon Country Club.
