Good, Maxine E. (Davis)
Maxine E. (Davis) Good, 88, of the Hiawatha Care Center, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Sept. 6, 2010, at the care center. Graveside services: 2:15 p.m. Monday at Brandon Cemetery, Brandon. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Monday at Papich-Kuba Janeba Chapel West, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her children: Margaret Reilly, Loveland, Colo.; Alice James, Cedar Rapids; James Good (Ellen), Green Bay, Wis.; and William Good (Marlene), Hiawatha; sisters, Bernice Young and Lura Winterowd, both of Cedar Rapids; 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy A. Good; her parents, Paul E. and Minnie (Ridings) Davis; son, Leroy Good; and sister, Lorraine Secore.
Born Dec. 1, 1921, in Brandon, Iowa, she was named valedictorian and awarded a scholarship medal of the 1939 class of Brandon High School. Maxine married Roy A. Good on May 20, 1939. She retired from Rockwell-Collins after 28 years and was a member of the Toddville American Legion Auxiliary.
