Goldman, Daniel Leslie

Daniel Leslie Goldman, 58, of Boone, died Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2010, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City following surgical complications.

He is survived by daughters, Shannon (Goldman) Maaske and Susana Goldman; his son, Stephen Goldman; son-in-law, Greg Maaske; grandchildren, Ava (4) and Blake (1 ½); four brothers, Dennis, David, Darrell and Donald; and many close friends.

Born Jan. 20, 1952, and raised in Delta, Iowa, the son of Clifford and Norma Maxine (Lisk) Goldman, he was a lifelong resident of Iowa. In his early years, Mr. Goldman worked on the family's farm with his four brothers. After graduating from Sigourney High School in 1970, he attended Central College, graduating in 1974, with a bachelor's degree in biology. He then worked in business and construction in locations throughout Iowa.

After living in Creston, Iowa and Ames, Iowa he settled in Boone, Iowa for his remaining years. He will be remembered as having a great sense of humor, a large heart and a very strong will.

A family viewing was held at Gay & Ciha Funeral Home in Iowa City on Sept. 10.

A memorial fund was established in Daniel's name at US Bank.
