Goedken, Jackie
Jackie Goedken, 20, died Wednesday, July 6, 2011, at University of Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City. Funeral services will be held 10:30 Monday morning, July 11, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Monticello, with interment in Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 until 8 p.m. Sunday at Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello, where a parish Scripture service will be held at 8 p.m. Father Keith Birch will officiate at the services.
Surviving are her parents, David and Jamie; a sister, Jenna; a brother, Matt, and his wife, Kelsey, and a niece, Evey, all of Monticello; her grandmothers, Janice Goedken of Cedar Rapids and Barb Himes of Monticello; a special friend, Charlie Cigrand of Cedar Rapids; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Larry and Phyllis Himes and Ben Goedken.
Jacqueline Lynn Goedken was born Sept. 25, 1990, at the Anamosa Hospital. She was the daughter of David and Jamie (Himes) Goedken. Jackie graduated from the Monticello Community Schools with the class of 2009. She went on to attend Kirkwood Community College. She was currently employed as a CNA at the Monticello Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Jackie had also worked at Living Center East in Cedar Rapids and at Edge Fitness in Monticello.
While in school Jackie had participated in cross country, volleyball and choir. Jackie enjoyed reading, running, and had a special love for her cat, Princess, and Charlie's dog, Chalmers.
