Godbey, Jennifer D.

Jennifer D. Godbey, 60, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, February 10, 2012, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy following a long fight with cancer. Services: 2 p.m. Wednesday at Teahen Funeral Home by Chaplain Joseph Kane. Burial: Morning Sun Iowa at a later date. Friends may visit from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and after 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Survivors include her children Jared Godbey, Travis (Joanna) Godbey, and Kate Godbey all of Cedar Rapids; her parents Ervin and Dorothy Baker of the Mediapolis area; grandchildren Ashlyn and Brenna; brothers David (Kathy) Baker and Kelly Baker; sister Lynn (Dan) Egan all of the Mediapolis area and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Charles who died in December 2011.

Jennifer was born January 9, 1952 in Mediapolis the daughter of Ervin and Dorothy Baker.  She married Charles Dean Godbey on October 2, 1982 in Nashua.  Jennifer worked at General Mills as a distribution planner for 35 years before retiring in 2010.

Jennifer enjoyed reading, doing crosswords, watching Iowa Football, going to the casino but most of all being a mother and grandmother.

Memorials may be directed to the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy.
